Redefining how organisations DIAGNOSE, DECIDE, & DELIVER.
Risks are
better shared.
Projects are not only technical systems but also social ones.
Projects do not only face technical and operational risks — they also face risk within the social system, shaped by how stakeholders interact and make decisions. When these behavioural risks are not actively managed, they often become a major source of delays, conflicts, and delivery failures.
The CURED Framework addresses these risks directly. It brings together rigorous academic research with the CURED team’s practical experience across decades of clinical research, construction, and other complex delivery environments and industries.
At its core, CURED focuses on building trust and effective collaboration among stakeholders while tackling common behavioural challenges, including misaligned goals, opportunistic behaviour, information asymmetry, and the concealment of emerging problems.
By addressing these dynamics early, we help create the conditions for more transparent, cooperative, and successful project delivery.
The Five Elements of CURED.
Analysis of research data highlighted 5 key elements important in dealing with risks associated with the social system.
Each element reinforces the others and weakness or absence in one often indicates problems elsewhere.

Academic Research Foundation.
Research into why projects fail consistently highlights relationship breakdowns between stakeholders as one of the most common causes.
The CURED Framework was developed to address these challenges directly.
It is built on a strong foundation of academic research and practical experience from the CURED team and the wider field, drawing on insights from disciplines including:
• Project and Operations Management
• Relational Contracting
• Behavioural Economics
• Organisational Psychology
• Conflict Resolution Dynamics
• Collaboration Science
By combining these perspectives, CURED provides a structured approach to strengthening collaboration, improving transparency, and enabling more effective project delivery.

What is Relational Risk?
Relational risk captures the likelihood that behaviours will undermine a project. It includes:
-
Trust gaps
-
Misaligned incentives
-
Hidden assumptions
-
Communication breakdowns
-
Status or power differences
-
Avoidance behaviour
CURED makes these risks visible and manageable.
We measure and address relational risk through diagnostics, behavioural mapping, and facilitated interventions.
Gamification
A behavioural simulation that reveals how teams respond to complexity and pressure
in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
Purpose:
To surface unconscious habits, decision biases, and collaboration behaviours that influence project delivery, while giving participants space to explore these dynamics without real project consequences.
How it Works:
In a structured but low-pressure setting, teams work through time-bound scenarios that require negotiation, prioritisation, and trade-offs. Because the exercise is conducted in a safe learning environment, participants can experiment with different approaches and openly reflect on how decisions are made.
The exercise highlights:
-
Trust behaviours
-
Conflict styles
-
Communication patterns
-
Risk responses
-
Collaboration across organisational boundaries
Outcomes:
Participants gain insight into:
✔ Their behavioural tendencies
✔ Group dynamics and decision patterns
✔ Hidden points of relational risk
Our game is often a key activity within team development workshops, helping teams build trust, improve collaboration, and strengthen how they work together during project delivery.

Frequently asked questions about Nodel.
Yes of course! We have run academic studies proving the efficacy of play.
A:
It is primarily a card-based game we have developed it so it can also be played online, but it is always better to play games in person!
A:
NODEL can be played at any stage of a project, but we recommend playing it at the start and end of a trial.
A:
It typically takes 50-60 minutes per scenario.
A:

This depends on a few factors: The number of teams, the number of scenarios, and whether they are played remotely or in person. Please contact us for quote.
